Monday in the making

Things have been relatively busy in the world of Tupsy Turvy Designs during the past week as I have had to prepare for a market stall. I have also had a bit of extra time to spend crafting. So I got to work.

This is just a small selection of the items that I made. Firstly, 'Simone' the ballerina...

...secondly, football team 'bag buddies' and lastly, fabric flower brooches.

I am absolutely loving making dolls and presently I am working on a princess doll named 'Grace'. I hope to show pictures of her progress soon.

Weekend Wonders - Getting things done

I don't like treading water...

When work begins again, I feel like I am chasing my tail - battling to catch up with things. Work wise, I feel like I am just beginning to get on top of things -  crossing things off of my list.

I have had a few things to catch up on craft wise, however, today I managed to do a bit of finishing off. Let me share with you...

I managed to finish off an order for a black/grey 'Schauser' Bag Buddy. I can't wait to get it posted out.

It has been a while since I added a new product to my store, therefore I spent some time this afternoon making up a new Cutie Bug headband.

This headband is now available in my store.

I also made up a congratulations card for the birth of a baby boy of friends of mine. All in all, a rather productive day.

Did you make anything this weekend?

Monday in the making

I have been enjoying completing a couple of custom orders over the last few weeks. I posted up a black Scotty Dog Bag Buddy that I stitched up for such an order. Now I am in the process of making a similar dog Bag Buddy, however, this time the beard is grey. What do you think?

It just needs to be stitched together ...

I hope to make some more Bag Buddies soon, particularly as school has returned, as they would make an ideal gift for a student. Maybe some more different designs...

Happy crafting!

Monday in the making

It is getting closer to the return to school for another year. I have had a few orders for some bag buddies lately, which are great to clip onto school bags, handbags, etc to identify that they are yours. Little ones that are just starting school can get a bit confused about which bag is theirs. Bag buddies do a great job at identifying their bag!

I finished a duck design a couple of days ago and I have just finished a 'Scotty Dog' Bag Buddy design.

These two gorgeous critters were part of a custom order. Presently, I am working on another Scotty Dog but instead of a black 'beard', I am making a grey 'beard', also part of  a custom order. I also have teddy, princess, boy racer and football guernsey bag buddies available in my MadeIt shop.

Are there any other types of bag buddies that you would like to see in my range?

Friday thoughts - A lovely distraction

I must say that I have been rather distracted by craft this week. In my 'schedule fuelled' mind, I told myself that I would need to start pecking away at some work this week.

Well...I did to an extent.

However, I have been rather distracted by craft. I finished a couple of orders at the beginning of this week. Mr T's and Little Niece's birthdays are next week and so I have been busy making some special little gifts for them.

(Don't tell Mr T, but this is his special gift... a Brisbane Lions Footy bag buddy).

I have also been busy making a few headbands and another set of Cutie Bug hairclips to place in my shop.

I am also itching to get into a few new designs and make some more headbands with a few new materials that were purchased during the week.

Maybe work may need to wait just a little longer...

Have a lovely weekend!

Monday - in the making

Today I am carrying on with the sporting theme from yesterday by showing a finished order that I made today...

I had an order for a Western Bulldogs Footy Bag Buddy and I managed to complete it today. It has been fun thinking about the AFL teams and their colours and designing the bag buddies so that they portray their team.

It has also been wonderful to read the comments on my last post about the favourite teams of my wonderful viewers. Do you follow a certain football team or sport?

Weekend Wonders - Pre Season Training

I am a sport lover...

I love playing sport and quite enjoy having sport on the radio or tv in the background whilst I am working. I play netball, a sport that I have played since I was old enough to throw a netball and I enjoy watching/listening to the cricket or AFL football. I was quite pleased that my favourite footy team, Geelong Cats, took out the AFL premiership in 2011, much to the disgust of Mr T who is a Brisbane Lions fan.

It is no wonder then that my newest product in my shop reflects my sporting passion. I have designed a range of Footy Bag Buddies that allow supporters to show their football colours on handbags, school bags or anywhere you can clip a 'buddy'.

This photo displays the Geelong Cats and Collingwood Magpies version of the Footy Bag Buddies. They are not necessarily an exact copy of your team's guernsey but they do reflect your team's colours. I am willing to make up a 'buddy' to reflect your team, football code or add your favourite player's number to the back! Check out my store for more information.

Speaking of orders...I was at the Port Fairy Market on Saturday and enjoyed chatting to customers and displaying my designs and products. What was really encouraging was obtaining a few orders for my items! Small, positive steps... it builds up one's enthusiasm and encourages one.

I encourage you to look for small, positive steps in your own crafting, whether it is someone who views your work and makes a positive remark or if you have simply mastered a skill in your chosen craft.

Monday - in the making

Firstly, I apologise...

I was unable to add to my blog over the weekend as I had a tummy bug. It seems to be the way...plenty of things that need to be accomplished and then 'bam', stuck in bed for a whole day. The good news was that it was just for a day! Complete bed rest was just what my tired body needed.

This meant I was able to get back to work on Sunday (to catch up on the things that I wanted to do Saturday). I also made a bit of time to relax and design another little princess, this time with curly, black hair. She won't take much longer to finish.

I have quite a few different ideas for bag buddies to develop a bit of range. What type of bag buddy would you like to see? I would love to know.

Keep well and have fun crafting!

Monday - in the making

I have been busy working on another bag buddy creation, this time a little princess...
She's not quite finished as I still have some more stitching to do, however, she is progressing quite nicely. She should be in the shop fairly soon!

I hope your creations are progressing nicely!

Weekend Wonders - Run, run, running!

It is good to sit down...

Today, Mr T and myself participated in a 'Fun Run' today - the first 'running' event for both of us. I had to stop and walk a few times (only three!) as some of the hills knocked me around a little. I was quite puffed by the time I stopped running and walked the first time, but once I started running again, I managed to settle myself into a comfortable pace. I tried to keep myself focused - achieving little goals along the way.

I was very proud of Mr T's effort. Although I managed to cross the line in front of him (not that I'm competitive...) he was only around 20 minutes behind me.

I feel like I'm running at the moment...just keeping pace with things. It is such a busy time of year! It is busy at work, with items that are due in the next couple of weeks (overtime work) and things to organise. I am also participating in a market in a fortnight's time and although I am sharing the stall and providing a limited amount of items, I would dearly like to have a few more items finished.

But I suppose it is all about pacing - chugging away at the things that need to be completed and doing what I can. Focusing and completing my work items (although I feel less motivated by them) will mean more time spent on craft (which I enjoy). It is important, though,  to spend time relaxing in the midst of it all.

Speaking of racing around...a new boy racer added to the store.
I hope your weekend wasn't as fast paced and that you could spend some lovely hours crafting!

Monday - In the making

As mentioned earlier, I love making 'critters'. An item that is fast becoming my favourite is the 'bag buddy' design. I have already designed a teddy bear bag buddy (which is available in my MadeIt store), however, I feel a range of bag buddies happening!

I have just about completed a 'boy racer' bag buddy.

Complete with his helmet, sunglasses and cheeky grin, this boy racer is just about ready to zoom off!

I hope to finish stitching him tonight and add him to my MadeIt store. He may soon have a few buddies joining him on the starting grid!
